Hi, I am Chloe Wu—an adventurer of boundless spirit, an artist with a camera, a champion of feminism, and a tireless advocate for social change. Join me as I recount my remarkable exploits, traversing the vast expanses of our world.
In the year 2022, I embarked on an extraordinary journey, hitchhiking from the icy reaches of the North Arctic to the awe-inspiring landscapes of Antarctica, from the untamed wilderness of Alaska to the vibrant realms of Argentina. And that’s not all—I also undertook a breathtaking expedition across the African continent, navigating its diverse tapestry from the ancient marvels of Egypt to the sun-soaked plains of South Africa.
Last year alone, I hitchhiked over 150 rides, with my longest single ride spanning 3300km. For six days and five nights, I found myself a nomad on the back of a steadfast truck. But trucks were not the only vessels that carried me on my intrepid journeys; I hitched rides aboard ambulances, motorcycles, campervans, and even rural tractor. A chronicler at heart, I faithfully documented my encounters, penning the tales, perceptions, and musings amassed along the winding roads.
Traveling, for me, is akin to glimpsing the world through the eyes of the divine, a sacred vantage point from which the entirety of our wondrous Earth can be beheld. Mountains and oceans—these majestic sentinels of nature—captivate my senses wherever I roam. From the peaks that touch the sky to the depths of the boundless sea, I embrace the awe-inspiring grandeur of our planet. Equally captivating are the lives that weave the intricate fabric of humanity—people from every walk of life, with diverse backgrounds, a kaleidoscope of skin tones, and hidden stories residing in the farthest corners of the globe. In my quest to unravel the inner workings of society, I aspire to bring humanitarianism to those dwelling on the fringes of our collective consciousness.
The profound words of Romain Rolland echo within me, “Most men die at twenty or thirty; thereafter they are only reflections of themselves: for the rest of their lives they are aping themselves, repeating from day to day more and more mechanically and affectedly what they said and did.” I yearn to be an untamed soul, an idealist who defies the chains of conformity.
I love art. My passion knows no bounds as I explore various forms of painting and engage in the creation of handicrafts. As a wielder of the camera’s lens, I am enchanted by the power to capture fleeting beauty in a single immortalizing flash. The culinary arts, too, hold a special place in my heart, for within the act of cooking, life itself is made tangible, and transformed into a masterpiece. Since 2018, I have embraced my role as a global citizen and an unwavering advocate for feminism, dedicating myself wholeheartedly to the pursuit of social activism. In the days to come, I yearn to create profound works of art and evocative films that amplify my voice and serve as beacons of hope for the marginalized and underrepresented.
Welcome to my wonderland!
I met a homeless traveler at the airport. Listening to his stories, I found him super interesting. I thus bought his pants and shoes. I am joking. This is actually a pair of shoes traveling with me around the world. They have stepped on the land of six continents and been blown by the sea breeze of five oceans.
Hi!
